Bahraini Authorities Refer 51 Detainees Accused of Involvement in Jaw Prison Events to Trial

Bahrain Mirror: The chief prosecutor in the Southern Governorate of Bahrain, Mhanna Al-Shaiji, confirmed on Sunday (June 28, 2015) that the public prosecution referred 51 detainees to trial, after charging them with involvement in Jaw Prison events that took place on March 10, 2015.
Al-Shaiji stated on the Public Prosecution's official account on Twitter that "the Public Prosecution finished its extended investigations that lasted for 3 months into the riots and unrest that took place in the General Rehabilitation and Reform Directorate on March 10."
"It concluded referring 57 suspects including 51 detainees to the Fourth High Criminal Court and the session is to be held on July 23, 2015 to look into the case," he added.
The Jordanian police forces have raided Jaw Central Prison before they beat and tortured hundreds of detainees. following the protests witnessed in some of the prison blocks, condemning a police attack on one of the inmates' mothers during his routine visit.
