Bahrain Mirror: The community care advisor in Embassy of Pakistan in the Bahraini capital Manama, Maqsoud Lader Jah, revealed that 100 thousand Pakistanis live in Bahrain, most of whom work in construction and driving, while about 20% of them work as security guards in the Bahraini Ministry of Interior (nearly 20 thousand Pakistanis). However, they do not work in other public sectors. He explained that the Pakistani workforce comes in third place, following the Indian and Bengali workforces, with respect to the total Asian labor force residing and working in Bahrain.

The advisor said in an interview with the Al-Wasat newspaper that "the Pakistani community residing in Bahrain exceeds 100,000; however, according to the registered statistics, there are 100,000 Pakistanis working in Bahrain, 60% of them perform simple tasks related to maintenance, construction and driving heavy trucks. Many of them carry out street excavation works."

"Pakistanis residing in Bahrain face many problems, especially those working in the fields of construction, maintenance and excavation. Meanwhile, those working in the Ministry of Interior face no problems, as we have not received any complaint from them since their rights are preserved."
