Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society urged the world represented by the international community and international and UN organizations "to urgently act to reveal the fate of the cleric and former Member of Bahraini Parliament Sheikh Hassan Isa, who was arrested on Tuesday night (August 18, 2015) by Bahraini authorities who didn't reveal the reasons for this arrest. He was deprived of the right to defend himself, which requires his lawyers to look into the lawsuit papers. and his lawyers were prevented from accompanying him during investigation or even contacting him."
Al-Wefaq confirmed in a statement issued on Wednesday (August 19, 2015) that "the arrest of Sheikh Hassan is an escalatory move in the process of targeting clerics and political, social and religious activism in Bahrain. Furthermore, it reflects the nature of the crisis in Bahrain."
Al-Wefaq called for "putting an end to these methods, and working on the immediate release of Sheikh Isa," also demanding that "the targeting of political work be stopped, all prisoners of conscience be immediately released, the freedom of political, human rights and religious activism be respected and the role of clerics and their position in society be appreciated."
