Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society stated that Bahrain needs courageous national decisions based on consensus to be constructive and achieve inclusive reform and strengthen the local community by a clear comprehensive national program.
Al-Wefaq said in a statement issued on Wednesday (September 2, 2015) that all the challenges, threats, accidents and disagreements must form a serious motive to transit to a new phase of agreements to face all the challenges.
Al-Wefaq reiterated that it adheres to dialogue, saying that it is "the only way", and expressed its support "for the calls for dialogue, most recently, by the United States' embassy in Bahrain. This was preceded by calls made by the United Nations, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, a number of European Union states and some regional and Arab states.
Al-Wefaq also said that the various opportunities that open a true entrance to a new phase must not be wasted and that the doors must be closed in the face of anything that harms the country and delays reform. It warned of "the increase of provoking media speech that contradicts with national interest. Putting an end to such rhetoric can pave the way for national reconciliation and potential resolutions."
At the end of its statement, Al-Wefaq urged "to avoid heading towards destructive and wrong choices as violence and security decisions, for they are harmful and not fruitful, and have adverse effects and consequences that do not serve the interests of Bahrain."
