Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wasat newspaper published on Sunday (September 13, 2015) interviews with a number of Manama citizens in which they complained that "their old residential requests have become almost frozen, as the ministry intends to not meet their demands until now, although they are very old requests," showing a residential request card of one of the residents of the second district in the capital Manama, whose request states that he has registered 28 years ago and hasn't yet received a residential unit."

The residents pointed out that "the residential requests in the capital are even worse, as they are not equal to the rest of the countries whose residents have been granted residential units in a period less than that. This as the capital's residents continue to suffer. The residents' requests are still pending since 1993, 1994 and 1995 waiting for the implementation of repeated promises. They stressed that their grandchildren got sick of these promises more than them."

The residents explained that they knocked all the doors inside and outside the Ministry of Housing, asking for help and hoping to be treated equally like residents of other areas and to have their accumulated requests met, noting that they have priority in the residential units distributed annually by the ministry that exempts them for no reason or legal base," describing this as "discrimination which they and their children, who got married and became parents, suffer from."

"Some of us were promised to be have a unit in a number of residential construction projects that were established in the capital within the past few years. We; however, were lately surprised that projects of Bilad Al-Qadeem, Nabih Saleh, Jidhafs and Sanabis were distributed while under construction, although they have old cards that may be the oldest among those who have been granted residential units in different areas across Bahrain," they further stated.

The residents added: "If the ministry does not listen to our voices, we will raise our voices through the media. All what we want is justice in regards of distribution and considering our old requests which some of them have been pending for 22 and 23 years without any solution."
