Bahraini Court of Appeals Commutes Sentence of Jordanian who Embezzled 100,000 BD to 2 Years in Prison

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's second high court (court of appeals), presided over by judge Abdullah Al-Ashraf with the membership of judges Mohsen Mabrouk and Osama Al-Shathili and Abdullah Mohammad as secretariat, decided to modify the penalty of a (38 year-old Jordanian) appealer who embezzled a large amount of money that reached 100,000 BD from a shop he works in through forging the purchase account balances of customers.

The court commuted the sentence from 3 to 2 years in prison and ordered confiscating all the forged papers.

The Public Prosecution accused the suspect the he in 2015, along with another unknown person, forged private papers; the aforementioned accounts, related to the victim's shop, after he modified the accounts by adding and deleting sums of money from these accounts. He also used the forged record, subject of first charge, although he knew it was forged and embezzled the money shown in the papers that are related to the said shop.
