Bahrain Mirror: Although the 2015-2016 scholastic year has started about a month ago, a number of parents complained about the shortage of teachers in a number of public schools in Bahrain.

The families asked the Ministry of Education to meet the needs of schools before the launch of the scholastic year, highlighting that the job vacancies have to be already announced. Despite this, we find that the problem continues to emerge every year with no rapid and adequate solution.

Talking to the Al-Wasat newspaper, the families expressed their dissatisfaction with the shortage of teachers and wondered whether their sons would follow the other students in private schools if provided with alternative teachers. They also asked why the ministry does not fill in the gaps and takes the complaints of the parents into consideration from the beginning of the scholastic year.

A number of parents said that "A'ali elementary school for boys deceived them into thinking that it provided a teacher for their children after the mothers complained about the absence of a teacher for a long period of time. The parents were surprised to find out that the alternative teacher was only present during the visit of the quality assurance authority team that lasted for 3 days. It was revealed later on that she was brought from another school only to fill in the gap during the team's visit."
