Bahraini Cassations Court Refuses to Stop Execution of Suspects Accused of Killing Policeman in Al-Dair

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini court of cassations refused to halt the execution sentence issued against two suspects over the case of killing a policeman and others in a bomb blast in Al-Dair, as well as a 6-year prison term handed down to 7 others.

The defence panel asked the court to stop the sentences. The court; however, refused to do so. The case is still pending in court.

On May 27, 2015, the supreme court of appeals upheld the execution sentences against Mohammad Ramadan and Hussein Mousa form Al-Dair and the 6-year prison term handed down to 7 others.

The court of first instance ruled by consensus to execute the first and second suspect, sentenced a third suspect to life-imprisonment and the fourth until the twelfth suspect to 6 years in prison and fined each one of them 1000 BD. The court acquitted the the fourth until the twelfth suspect of the first, second, third, fourth and fifth charges brought against them and ordered the confiscation of the seized items.
