Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Bilad newspaper owned by Ali bin Khalifa, the Prime Minister's son, said the Ministry of Health started taking its measures to implement the decision to reduce the salaries of more than 400 doctors, who work according to long shifts program, as part of a policy to reduce expenses.
The doctors told the newspapers that they started consulting lawyers to mobilize against the ministry in case the efforts of reaching a friendly solution with the officials and administration of the Al-Salmaniya Medical Complex, where they work, failed.
They pointed out that about 500 to 800 BD will be deducted from their monthly salaries.
The Minister of Information Affairs Isa Al-Hammadi said that the government's plan to reduce expenses will not affect the employees. The government; however, has actually started lifting subsidies and canceling financial allowance programs established for citizens.
