General Federation Meets ILO Director-General & Discusses Implementing Tripartite Agreement

Bahrain Mirror: The General Federation of Workers Trade Unions in Bahrain said that it met with the International Labour Organization (ILO) Director-General, Guy Ryder, in its headquarters in the al-Adliya on the sidelines of Ryder's visit to Bahrain.
The two parties discussed the most important common issues especially working with the general federation and both government and job owners to implement the tripartite agreement signed on March 10, 2014. The ILO General-Director stressed that the organization seeks an effective and fruitful social dialogue that achieves the goals of the organization in enhancing the international labor standards.
Ryder further stated that he appreciates what he called the "positive role in the collective partnership", expressing his optimism regarding what he heard during his meeting with the officials concerning seeking to solve the labor problems and building positive and fruitful relations with the general federation.
The General-Director of the General Federation, Mr. Salman Al-Mahfouz, called on his guest, Ryder, to have prominent ILO representation in the third general conference of the federation to be held in March 2016.
