Bahrain Mirror: The local Bahraini Al-Bilad newspaper, owned by Ali bin Khalifa, the Prime Minister's son, said that Bahrain's Ministry of Labour and Social Development is leaning towards closing the Bahrain Scientific Center in Isa Town, following a dispute with the German Company assigned to manage the center's facilities over the contract price.
This decision comes amid the government's austerity policies, the newspaper stated.
According to the newspaper, the German MTE Studios manages the scientific center which is considered the first of its kind in the country. The center was opened in March 2012 and MTE signed a contract worth a million and 99,000 BD with the Ministry of Social Development (before it was merged with the Ministry of Labour).
