Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Interior Minister Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa announced a decision to give back foreign passports to their owners when their Bahraini passports are issued, replacing what was stipulated in the second paragraph of article 13 of decision No. 15/1976 of Law No.11/1975 on passports, which is to "withdraw all foreign passports upon the issuance of a Bahraini passport."
According to the current amendment: "Foreign passports are returned to its owner upon the issuance of a Bahraini passport."
According to the decision No.151/2015, the Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs must implement this decision as of the day that follows its publication in the Official Gazette.
This decision means that the foreigners who were naturalized at random have the right to keep their original passports despite receiving a Bahraini passport.
