Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court, presided over by judge Ebrahim Al-Zayed with the membership of judges Wajih Al-Shaer and Badr Al-Abdallah and Yousef Bou Hardan as secretariat, sentenced a 23-year-old Bahraini to five years in prison over assaulting a police officer and crashing into a patrol vehicle, and also fined him 250 BD for damages.
The authorities said that four patrol vehicles were surprised by a car that came in their way in the Diraz area. They claimed that the police asked him to stop but the driver refused attempting to escape after hitting one of the patrol cars. He was pursued by the patrol vehicles and during his arrest, he resisted the police officers, which caused an injury in one of the policemen's shoulders, according to the authorities.
