US Official Says Discussed “Human Rights Protection” with Bahraini King

Bahrain Mirror: A United States official said on Saturday (October 31, 2015) that he discussed with the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the importance of protecting human rights.
During a press conference, Antony J. Blinken, the US Deputy Secretary of State, said that he discussed cooperation in many economic and security issues, most importantly protection of human rights and significance of deepening and expanding relations between both countries.
On the sidelines of his participation in the Manama Dialogue, Blinken confirmed the deep relations with the countries in the region "which is home to our oldest and closest friends and allies," stressing on Washington's commitment to "defending it against aggression which is the main national interest for the United States."
