Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Bahraini authorities banned a peaceful popular rally the national opposition democratic forces planned to hold outside the French Embassy in the Bahraini capital Manama in solidarity with the victims of the terrorist attacks that took place in the French capital, Paris.
The opposition considered that this ban comes within the campaign of restricting the freedom of opinion, expression and peaceful assembly. The authorities are tightening the grip on political activism and freedom in Bahrain, they added.
The national opposition democratic forces expressed their sorrow at the lack of freedom of expression even on the humanitarian level, which the Bahraini people are known for. This came in the light of the world's condemnation of terrorist attacks, including recently Lebanon, Iraq, France, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Tunisia, which were targeted by the terrorism of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq. The Bahraini people are banned from expressing any humanitarian solidarity or denunciation of the brutal terrorist attacks hitting the world.
They further stressed that they condemn terrorism in all its forms and sources and that they adhere to the humanitarian and civilized peaceful standards that reject terrorist crimes. These are the standards we adopted in our political and national work under all circumstances, they said.
