Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's court of appeals looked into the appeal brought forth by the former Member of Parliament Khalid Abdulaal (not imprisoned) who has been sentenced by the court of first instance to a one full year in prison over posting tweets on his personal Twitter account deemed insulting to the Ministry of Interior. The court decided to adjourn his case until February 2016.

The representative of Public Prosecution told the second high criminal court (the court of appeals), which is presided over by judge Abdullah Al-Ashraf with the membership of judges Mohsen Mabrouk and Osama Al-Shathili and Abdullah Mohammad as secretariat, that the investigations have been concluded after lifting the Parliamentary immunity from the former MP, as he is no longer an MP. The prosecution's representative asked the court to give him time to prove that Abudlaal's immunity was lifted. Thus, the court decided to adjourn the previous verdict; providing evidence that proves lifting the immunity from the former MP.

A Bahraini court sentenced the former MP Khalid Abdulaal to prison on Tuesday (May 26, 2015) after convicting him of posting tweets that insult the Ministry of Interior.
