Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's second high criminal court, presided over by judge Abdullah Al-Ashraf with the membership of judges Mohsen Mabrouk and Osama Al-Shathili and Abdullah Mohammad as secretariat, adjourned the appeals of the verdict issued against activist Zainab Al-Khawaja until February 2, 2016. Al-Khawaja is sentenced to 9 months in prison over insulting and attacking policemen and entering the reform and rehabilitation center without permission.

The Public Prosecution stated Al-Khawaja on August 28, 2014 publicly accused the sergeant and vice sergeant of an incident that exposes them to punishment and scorn and that she literally and physically insulted them while performing their duties. She also entered a restricted place. The Court of First Instance sentenced her to 6 months in prison over the first and second charges and 3 months over the third charge. The court specified 50 BD as bail to halt the execution.

The authorities said that Zainab Al-Khawaja entered the reform and rehabilitation center without permission. Although the policemen tried to prevent her from entering, she did not respond and headed to the visitation section to check on her father without having permission. The policemen tried to prevent her, so she pushed both of them telling them that they make false testimonies at the court. The police presented a video showing the incident.

Bahrain Mirror has already published this video which the court based its verdict on and sentenced Al-Khawaja to 9 months in prison.
