Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Ministry of Interior claimed that detainee Hussein Hamza Yousef has visited the prison's clinic 4 times since he was arrested on March 15, 2015. He was prescribed adequate medications for his health condition in each medical review. The ministry denied any medical malpractice concerning his health condition.
In response to a statement by Yousef's wife, the ministry said "Yousef was transferred to an ear, nose and throat clinic in the military hospital at the order of the clinic's doctor on August 20, 2015. The specialized doctor in the hospital said that Yousef's health condition is stable and he doesn't need to undergo any surgery. He also doesn't need any medications other than those prescribed for him in the center's clinic."
"The reform and rehabilitation center fulfills its legal duty towards all detainees. It is keen to provide all the clinics of the reform and rehabilitation center with medical services around the clock," the ministry further stated, calling on the media "to commit to professionalism, credibility and accuracy and not publish information subjectively without referring to the competent official parties."
