Bahraini Interior Minister Signs Security Cooperation Agreement with Indian Counterpart

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain News Agency (BNA) said that the Bahrain's Interior Minister Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa visited India, met with his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh and a signed security cooperation agreement. The Interior Minister discussed with Singh the idea of establishing an Asian Police Organization to exchange security information.
Singh said that "the signing of a security cooperation between the two countries will contribute to further coordination regarding various security threats," adding that "the stability and general order in GCC countries is important to India."
For his part, Rashid Al Khalifa stressed that there is an urgent need for improving security cooperation amid the extraordinary security situation and threats the world is facing, describing the threat of religious and ideological extremism as the source of terrorism.
BNA further stated that the Bahraini minister discussed with his Indian counterpart "the idea of the establishment of an Asian Police Organization to exchange security information, similar to Europol in the European Union. Such an Organization would reinforce security cooperation and coordination to unify law enforcement efforts."
