Bahrain Mirror: Member of Bahrain's Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Mohammad Khalid Al-Haza', stated that the Ninth Minor Criminal Court sentenced on Sunday (December 6, 2015) a policeman to two years in prison over charges of violating the bodily integrity of another person.
The charges are based on a report that the suspect-a police officer- committed an offense by violating the bodily integrity of a detainee on November 15, 2015, with footage of the incident, showing the suspect assaulting the victim.
The SIU immediately took the necessary measures following the report by taking the victim's statement and referring him to a forensic doctor. The physician's report stated that the victim sustained injuries. The unit also questioned witnesses and the accused policeman and confronted him with the video recording of the incident, so he confessed to the charge raised against him.
