Bahrain Mirror: The International Center for Supporting Rights and Freedoms (ICSRF) called on the Coalition for the International Criminal Court to urge the Bahraini authorities to allow detainee Ali Abduljalil to attend his mother's funeral.
Abduljalil's mother passed away on December 9, 2015, and her funeral ceremony was postponed, as the family awaits the authorities' decision on allowing her detained son to attend the funeral.
The ICSRF said in a statement that "the Bahraini authorities should separate between human emotions of detainees and their political stances and the reasons behind their imprisonment," stressing that the "International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, ratified by the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2006, guarantees this right.
"We support all the defenders of human rights inside the Kingdom of Bahrain who are being subjected to new and unusual methods of torture and punishment," the center further stated.
