Bahrain Mirror: Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem described the crime that took place in the Nigerian city of Zaria as "one of the awful and deadly examples that contradict with Islam and the Islamic Sharia's clear and obvious laws."
Sheikh Qassem condemned the incident which left "a large number killed and wounded including Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Zakzaky, not due to any fault but only because they are preachers for the Almighty God and his authority as well as the authority of his caliphs, Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him and the imams from his family."
Qassem blamed in a statement on Sunday (December 20, 2015) the Nigerian Government and accused it of having involvement in the crime. "It has made no apparent effort in tracking down the perpetrators; the plotters of the incident and those who committed the heinous massacre", he added, stressing that the Nigerian Government imprisoned "the victims of terrorism and left the perpetrators of the crime enjoying full freedom".
