Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Bahrainis marked the fifth anniversary of the uprising today on Sunday (February 14, 2016) amid ongoing protests and a schools strike. The Bahraini uprising is still ongoing; at dawn, several protests were staged across the country, announcing that they will remain hopeful despite the regime's brutality. Bahrainis still adhere to their demands despite all the conditions they are suffering from.
The protests announced that oppression has failed to bring the uprising to a halt. Several protests were staged in Al-Diah, Sanabis, Aa'li, Shakoura, Abu Saiba, Diraz, Al-Dair, Samahij, Bilad Al-Qadeem, Dar Kulaib, Karzakan, Himla and Hamad town, where protestors blocked some roads.
The regime's brutality that failed to keep Sitra residents off the streets throughout the past five years has once again proved its failure. Sitra residents reorganized protests that stressed their adherence to the uprising's demands.
Angry protestors blocked a number of roads. Meanwhile, the security forces used bulldozers to remove the barriers and fired shotgun pellets and tear gas at peaceful protestors.
In a remarkable response, most of the schools were empty of students and shops were closed in various areas across the kingdom, including Manama. Meanwhile, markets were also abandonned and clear of people.
