Bahrain Threatens to Take Measures against "Hezbollah Supporters" following Similar Saudi Statement

2016-03-15 - 11:10 p

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Ministry of Interior said on Monday (March 14, 2016) that it will take measures against who is proven to be linked or affiliated to Lebanon's Hezbollah, a day following similar statements issued by the Saudi Interior Ministry.

Bahrain's statement read that it deported a number of Lebanese families after allegedly proving that they support or are linked to Hezbollah. Among the deported families; however, were Christian and Sunni families. The authorities didn't raise any charges against them, but gave them a 48-hour deadline to leave the country.

Gulf States have begun tightening the grip on Lebanese nationals, in retaliation against Hezbollah's stance against their war waged on Yemen, following their decision to label Hezbollah as "a terrorist organization."

Since the Saudi troops entered the country five years ago to help the ruling Al Khalifa family in Bahrain crush the popular protests. The authorities in Manama have also taken steps inside and outside the island kingdom in accord with Riyadh's stance.
