Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Sayed Ali Khamenei, stated that the United States wants the Iranians to back down from "supporting the oppressed people in Bahrain." Iran backs the demands of the Bahraini people who are seeking to put an end to the ruling Al Khalifa family's monopoly over power.
In a speech he delivered on the occasion of the Nowruz, the Persian new year, on Sunday (March 20, 2016), Khamenei said: "The powers of tyranny want us to back down from supporting the Palestinian cause, the resistance, and the oppressed people in Bahrain and Yemen."
"The US wants Iran to submit to to it," he stressed, adding "we don't have a problem with the American people but only with its political administration and the government which continues to make threats."
"Some Arab countries are challenging the wills of their people and reaching their hands out to the Zionist entity with plain Impudence," he further stated.
