Bahrain Mirror: Clashes broke out between angry mourners and Bahraini security forces on Friday (April 8, 2016), after regime forces used tear gas and sound grenades to disperse hundreds of mourners participating in the final funeral procession of martyr Ali Abdulghani.
Mourners held pictures of Abdulghani who died due to injuries sustained during his arrest the night before the Formula One race kicked off in Bahrain. The crowds chanted anti-government slogans calling for the downfall of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, whom they hold accountable for the widespread human rights violations. A large banner that read "Stop the Bloodshed" led the funeral procession.
Regime forces also chased down mourners into residential areas in Shaherkan southwest of the Bahraini capital Manama and drowned the area with toxic tear gas.
