Shura Council Passes Decree Allowing Establishment of Completely Foreign-Owned Enterprises

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Shura Council approved in its session held on Sunday (May 8, 2016) Decree 28/2015 to amend a number of provisions of the Commercial Companies Law issued by decree 21/2001.
The decree stipulates developing a system to register dormant companies, allow foreigners to establish enterprises with full ownership, practice businesses that were previously limited to Bahrainis, and decrease the required measures for establishing a company. The decree facilitates the measures for registering companies and practicing businesses in Bahrain amid the current worldwide situation and economic crisis due to the drop in oil prices.
