Bahrain Mirror: The Gulf Institute for Democracy and Human rights (GIDHR) stressed that the Bahraini regime continues to practice the violations documented in the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry report, calling on the international community to pressure the Bahraini government into implementing the recommendations made by BICI and the Human Rights Council.
GIDHR, in a statement, called on the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to establish a group to follow up the implementation of these recommendations and Bahrain's International commitments.
The human rights institute further noted that now more than 4 years after issuing the BICI report, the Bahraini regime proved that it is not willing to find a solution to the crisis, stressing that "the Bahraini regime did not commit to the BICI recommendations, especially the main ones."
BICI issued on November 23, 2013 a number of recommendations, including putting an end to the violations and holding the violators accountable. The violations; however, increased and the regime continued practicing its systematic repressive policies.
