Smart CCTVs To be Activated in Bahrain

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini General Director of Traffic, Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa announced that as of Saturday June 11, smart CCTVs will be activated in the country. The move aims at enhancing traffic safety and it is part of the modernization and development strategy of the Interior Ministry.
He said that smart devices have proven their efficiency during the experimental phase. They monitor various violations, including speeding, wrong overtaking and crossing red signals, yellow box and emergency lane. They will also monitor the use of handheld mobiles while driving and not wearing the seatbelt.
The department has conducted a comprehensive traffic awareness to promote traffic safety and encourage drivers to avoid wrong traffic practices. He further explained that drivers can check their violations by activating the E-Key on the Bahrain e-Government portal.
