Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Bahrainis continue to protest outside Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim's home in Diraz, while more frustrated citizens head towards the open strike area, which the religious and political groups announced as soon as the decision to revoke the citizenship of Sheikh Isa Qassim was made public.
Thousands of protestors chanted slogans against the Bahraini king Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his uncle, Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, expressing their outrage about the move against the supreme leader.
The decision stirred up a wave of international reactions; Iran denounced the decision and called on the Bahraini authorities to avoid destroying the bridges with moderate leaders. Meanwhile, the United States said that the decision further diverts Bahrain from the path of reform.
Angry protests were staged in several villages across Bahrain and protestors blocked main roads.
For his part, the head of the dissolved Ulama Islamic Council Sayed Majeed Al-Mashaal announced turning the rally in Diraz into a permanent one.
"We will not leave this place...If the security forces want to reach Sheikh Isa's home, they have to cross over our bodies," said Sayed Al-Mashaal in front of thousands of protestors outside Sheikh Isa Qassim's home in Diraz.
