Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Ministry of Interior interrogated a number of Shiite clerics today on Thursday (June 23, 2016) and referred them to the Public Prosecution, after accusing them of taking part in an open rally in Diraz to protest the authorities' decision to revoke Sheikh Isa Qassem's citizenship.
"A number of participants in an illegal assembly held in Diraz village were summoned for promoting disobedience of the law, threatening national security and peace, and referred to the Public Prosecution while legal procedures are underway," said the General-Director of the Northern Governorate Police.
He further noted that the Interior Ministry had previously "warned of any inflammatory statements or actions that would disrupt public security and order," threatening to take the necessary legal measures against anyone who commits any acts or practices aimed at endangering people's lives and harming their interests.
