Bahrain Mirror: The Official Gazette of Bahrain published the royal decree pursuant to which the citizenship of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim was revoked.
The first article of Royal Decree 55/2016 published in the official gazette issue of Thursday (June 30, 2016) stipulates that "the Bahraini citizenship of Isa Ahmad Qassim who holds personal number (410031950) has been revoked."
"Based on a request by the Interior Minister who explained the reasons for revoking the Bahraini nationality, which was attained yet its right won't preserved, "causing harm to the interests of the kingdom and behaving in a way inimical with the duty of loyalty to it".
It is noteworthy that the Interior Ministry issued a statement in which it announced that the decision to strip Sheikh Qassim of his citizenship was made in the cabinet's weekly meeting on Monday (June 20, 2016), while the royal decree holds the same date.
