Opposition Calls for Protests in Bahrain, Interior Ministry Warns of Retaliatory Measures

Bahrain Mirror: Opposition groups in Bahrain called for launching protests on Wednesday July 27, 2016 to express their rejection of Sheikh Isa Qassim's trial. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior warned against organizing any demonstrations.
"We call for holding angry demonstrations in different areas across Bahrain, to express the popular rejection of this trial," stressed the opposition groups.
For his part, Public Security Chief, Tariq al-Hassan warned against responding to any of the "provocative" invitations, or any actions that might "threaten security and public order." He further stressed that they shall take necessary legal measured towards all individuals who work on disrupting traffic, in a way that might affect and destabilize civil peace. Al-Hassan noted that these warning came after what he called suspicious news was circulated about illegal gatherings to be held.
