Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court sentenced on Tuesday (August 30, 2016) a Shiite cleric to one year in prison over participation in Diraz sit-in protest, that have been ongoing since over 60 days against the revocation of Ayatollah sheikh Isa Qassim's citizenship.
The court sentenced preacher Sayed Ali Ahmad Al-Musawi to one year in prison with the execution of the sentence, which raises the number of convicts over participation in the peaceful assembly to 3, after the jail term sentences issued against Sheikh Ali Hmaidan and reciter Abdullah Sabah.
Dozens of Shiite clerics are facing similar fates, following the Public Prosecution's interrogation of dozens of Bahrainis, who are demanding to put an end to violations of Shia rights in the country and the ruling Al Khalifa family's monopoly over power.
