Bahrain Punishes Tweeter with One-Year Imprisonment and 1,000 BD Fine

Bahrain Mirror: A Bahraini court sentenced on Wednesday (August 31, 2016) Taiba Ismail (33 years old) to one year in prison, also fining her 1,000 Bahraini dinars, for a number of tweets she had sent on her personal Twitter account.
The authorities accuse Ismail of insulting the king and inciting hatred against the regime, which are charges usually raised against Tweeters in Bahrain.
