Bahrain Mirror: The Minor Criminal Court presided over by Judge Ibrahim Al-Jifin and Hussein Hammad as secretariat, set on Wednesday (September 21, 2016), October 6 as a date to issue its verdict against the prominent Shiite cleric and member of the (dissolved) Ulama Islamic Council, Sheikh Fadhel Al-Zaki, with his continued detention.

Al-Zaki, along with a number of Shiite clerics, is tried over the charge of assembly in Diraz based on participation in the open sit-in protest in front of Sheikh Isa Qassim's house since June 20, after the authorities revoked his citizenship.

The court handed down yesterday 1-year jail term to 3 Shiite clerics and 2-year jail term to a Shiite preacher over protesting outside Sheikh Isa Qassim's house.

It is to mention that Al-Zaki was summoned for interrogation on August 6, 2016. He was detained to be presented to the prosecution that arrested him for 15 days pending investigation, after charging him with assembly.
