Bahrain Mirror: The first high criminal court sentenced 6 suspects to 10 years in prison and ordered the confiscation of seized items over planting a hoax bomb.
The court convicted the suspects because on September 6, 2015, they, along with other unknowns, deliberately set fire to movables, put, along with other unknowns, a hoax bomb in a public place and took part in an assembly of more than 5 persons.
The authorities claim that on September 6, 2015, the suspects put a number of tires and a strange body; a gas cylinder for the air conditioners connected to electrical wires and set fire in Amman street.
The authorities say that they reached the suspects through investigation and private sources.
Human rights organizations challenge the charges raised against political detainees, since they doubt the independence of the judiciary, whose members are assigned by royal decrees, and since it issues sentences based on confessions extracted under duress and evidence presented by secret investigations and anonymous witnesses.
