Bahrain Mirror: The Secretary General of Bahrain General Federation of Trade Unions (GFBTU), Hassan al-Halwachi, quoted Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as saying that he wants the dismissed employees to return to their jobs.
The General Federation had filed during a meeting with Hamad bin Isa last Wednesday (September 21, 2016), a report regarding all the sections that have not been implemented in the tripartite agreement, signed on March 10, 2014. They are in relation with the return of dismissed employees and members of unions to their jobs, in both the private and public sectors.
According to al-Halwachi, the King responded to the demand by saying: "Whatever their number is, we want them back."
The government, semi-governmental, and private companies refuse the return of the dismissed employees over claims of their participation in the popular protests of February and March 2011, despite the fact that these companies have ratified an agreement sponsored by the International Labor Organization.
