High Criminal Court Acquits Adel Flayfel of Indictment in Trust Betrayal Case

Bahrain Mirror: The Second High Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Bader al-Abdullah, with membership of Judges Wajih al-Shaer and Omar al-Saidi, and Iman Damsal in the Secretariat position, acquitted former colonel in the National Security Apparatus, Adel Flayfel. A first tier court previously indicted Flayfel, along with another, and sentenced him to 3 years in prison, in a "betrayal of trust" case.
The Chief Prosecutor of the capital province had previously stated that the Public Prosecution received another complaint of "trust betrayal" by one of the renowned figures, who was previously subjected to investigations and imprisonment due to similar complaints. The summary of the complaint is that the defendant deluded one of the foreign companies to sign a partnership with a poultry company. The agreement was that the victim company pays one million two hundred and fifty thousand dinars, which were supposed to represent its share of the company's capital, while the defendant pays the rest of the amount; over ten million dinars.
