KSA, Bahrain Launch Bilateral Maritime Maneuvers at Sheikh Salman Port

Bahrain Mirror: The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that Riyadh and Manama launched today (Monday October 17, 2016), a joint naval maneuver in Sheikh Salman port in Bahrain.
The agency clarified, "The bilateral mixed maritime maneuvers named (Bridge 17) between the Royal Saudi Navy and the Bahraini Royal Navy started today, at Sheikh Salman, in the Kingdom of Bahrain."
Saudi Commodore Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Saleh said, "This exercise aims to raise the combat capability and professional performance levels, of all types of naval operations and unification of tactical concepts of command and control, in addition to enhance naval battle management procedures, as well as contribute to training visits and inspecting territorial waters to protect and repel any aggression."
He further pointed out the importance of this exercise, adding that among its goals are "to raise the efficiency and security of combat and the sense of the two nations, in the light of their needs of cadres and sophisticated equipment, and the need to share experiences of training, proficiency of technical combat and informatics."
