Bahrain Mirror: The First High Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Hamad bin Salman Al Khalifa, with the membership of two judges, Dia' Haridi and Jamal Awad, and the Secretariat of Abdullah Mohammed, upheld a 3-year imprisonment sentence against a teacher and a cleric, on charges of accommodating 3 wanted convicts.

The court convicted the defendants, claiming that in 2013, the first defendant himself concealed (3 individuals) convicted with a felony and sentenced to 10 years of prison, with his knowledge of that.

The court also claimed that the second defendant worked with the first one, and helped hide the convicted suspects, despite their knowledge of the prison verdict issued against them. The first defendant was asked to rent an apartment for the convicts to hide in, and so he did, with the second defendant providing the rent for the apartment.

The details, according to the court, indicate that the second defendant (the cleric), who fled the Kingdom of Bahrain, asked the first defendant (the teacher), to rent an apartment to accommodate the 3 individuals sentenced to 10 years of prison.

The defendant rented out an apartment in Sitra, with a rent out value of 200 dinars, which were provided by the second defendants.

The authorities prosecutes any citizen accommodating a wanted suspects in political cases, in order to isolate the wanted convicts from the community as much as possible.
