Bahrain Mirror: The High Appeals court amended the First Instance Court's verdict, sentencing the owner of "Haji Ahmed" twitter account to 3 years instead of 5. The authorities accuse Haji Ahmed of "insulting the forces taking part in the decisive storm and spreading false news and rumors that would endanger and intimidate people in war time". This is a charge often brought to everyone who criticizes war on Yemen.

Lawyer Balqees Al-Manami attended the session with the suspect and presented a written and oral plea, demanding the acquittal of her client.

The court charged the suspect of spreading information during wartime in a manner that damaged war preparations and military operations of the armed forces and that he spread fear among people.

The authorities claim that the tweeter "Haji Ahmed" posted tweets that "defame Bahraini soldiers taking part in the coalition forces" after some of them were killed.

The authorities said that they reached the suspect through "investigations" and that he confessed that he spread over 80.000 tweets insulting the killed Bahrainis, Emiratis and Saudis in Yemen.
