Bahrain Mirror: A conference sponsored by Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (Sunday November 13, 2016) demanded the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to "speed up the measures to declare Gulf Union".
The conference was held in a resort South of Manama, and was organized by "The National Unity Gathering", an organization that supports the ruling system in Bahrain.
Participants in the conference entitled "Gulf Union Conference: Future and Destiny", called for raising the conference's document at the 37th Gulf Summit to be held next December in Bahrain, in a bid to demand Gulf countries to speed up measures prior to declaring "The Gulf Union".
The Bahraini regime is heading towards declaring a Gulf Union, similar to the European Union, in order to help it overcome the people's democratic aspirations, and guarantee financial funds.
For his part, Bahraini Prime Minister Khalifa ben Salman Al Khalifa, indicated in a meeting with officials (Sunday November 13, 2016), "the accelerated political developments sweeping across the world, calling for achieving the Gulf Union as the way to protect the national interests of the Gulf."
