Bahrain Mirror: The Iraqi Embassy in Bahrain told al-Wasat newspaper that it issued more than 80 thousand visas for Bahrainis visiting its country on the occasion of Arbaeen Imam Hussein (PBU), marked Monday (November 21, 2016).
For their part, the owners and organizers of travel groups praised the efforts exerted by the Iraqi Embassy in Bahrain to guarantee the visa issuance to enter Iraq. They clarified that despite the big number of people who applied for the visa, the visas were processed quickly, to the extent that embassy employees worked overtime to guarantee the issuance of visas. They also noted the sophistication and professionalism of the embassy employees.
Moreover, the Iraqi authorities set a security plan to coincide with the occasion, by virtue of which thousands of policemen were deployed around both cities of Najaf and Karbala, and on the roads leading to them. This comes especially when thousands of pilgrims march their way from various Iraqi provinces towards Karbala, a walk that takes days.
In Karbala, Bahrainis have their special presence in the commemoration of Imam Hussein's Arbaeen. The Iraqi authorities thus also allocated a space for Bahrainis in Karbala to host the visitors of Karbala, a procedure that has become an annual tradition.
Airline opened the way for additional flights to meet the growing demand for travel during the religious season to Iraq. Airlines are working through its utmost capacity to cover the annually growing demands of citizens in Bahrain and the Gulf.
Last year, the number of Bahraini participating in the commemoration of Arbaeen in Iraq, was estimated to be more than 60 thousand Bahrainis arriving in Karbala, amid a mass crowd.
