Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Ambassador in Iraq, Salah al-Maliki, said that the Bahraini Embassy and Consulate in Najaf are closely following up the status of Arbaeen Imam Hussein commemoration in Karbala. People had started their walking journey around 10 days ago from Najaf to Karbala, on this religious occasion.

Al-Maliki noted that both the embassy and consulate are ready to present any help needed to its citizens, clarifying that all notices reported at the embassy until now are pertaining to lost passports and missing people cases, due to the mass crowds marching their way to Karbala.

Moreover, he added that some individuals could have missed joining their group due to health-related reasons, especially that the cases reported were about adults. He also noted that he was informed of a citizen who died and was buried in Najaf, yet said the consulate has not been officially informed by the deceased's family, in order to ratify his death certificate.

The Bahraini Ambassador in Iraq called on all citizens returning to their home via airplanes, to be present at the airports 5 hours before departure. He also urged them to be patient during travel, in light of crowds that gather in this occasion, especially in the small Najaf airport.
