Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Court of Appeals, presided over by Judge Mohammad bin Ali Al Khalifa, and with the secretariat led by Abdullah Mohammad Hassan, supported a 5-year prison sentence against an appellant.
The High Criminal Court had charged 3 defendants with "illegal assembly" in Manama and setting fire that damaged two civilian cars, and sentenced one of them to 3 years of prison, and 2 of them to 5 years.
The First Instance Court said in its verdict that the first and third defendants were over 15 years of age, but under 18 when the incident occurs, and this therefore lessens their sentence in accordance with Articles 70 and 71 of the Penal Law.
Authorities have claimed that a group of protesters assembled near the "Naeem Health Center", and cut the roads. They added that they targeted the "peace keeping" forces with Molotov bombs, which led to setting fire to two civilian cars parked in the area.
