Appeals Court Commutes Sayed Majeed Al-Mashaal’s Sentence to 6 Months

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's appeals court commuted on Tuesday (November 29, 2016) the 2-year jail term against the prominent Shiite cleric Sayed Majeed Al-Mashaal to 6 months only over the charge of taking part in Diraz protest.
The head of Ulama Islamic council also faces one-year jail term over inciting disobedience of laws. Meanwhile, the court is still looking into his third case.
The authorities arrested Sayed Mashaal on (July 30, 2016) based on taking part in Diraz sit-in that has been held since more than 150 days protesting against revoking the nationality of Sheikh Isa Qassim.
