Court Sentences Defendant to One-Year Jail Term over Hiding Wanted Fugitives

Bahrain Mirror: The Fifth High Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Ibrahim Al Zayed, with the membership of judges, Mohsen Mabrouk and Moataz Abdul Ezz, and with the Secretariat of Youssef Bu Hardan, sentenced a defendant to one year in prison after convicting him of hiding 3 wanted for authorities over political cases.
The Public Prosecution accused the suspect that in 2016 he hid a convict sentenced to prison term over arson and assembly, and another convict sentenced over assembly and riot and a third one who the prosecutor issued an arrest warrant against him.
The suspect confessed that he knew that the suspects are wanted for security authorities and said in the interrogations that he is single and lives in an apartment on the roof of his father's house. He added that the first and second accused came to him during washing his car and asked him to hide them in his house, indicating that he was aware that they took part in riot actions. The third wanted arrived later and the 3 remained at the suspect's house for 6 months, noting that the suspect used to provide the 3 wanted with food.
