Bahrain Mirror: The high appeals court commuted the verdict issued against 5 appellants in the case of setting fire to tires, planting hoax bombs in a public place, assembling, rioting and acquiring Molotov. The court lessened the 10-year jail term issued by the first-instance court against 6 convicts, making them 5 years. The court also upheld 3-year jail term against the third and fourth suspects.

Attorney General and Chief of the Terror Crimes Prosecution, Ahmed Al-Hammadi, said in a previous statement that the fourth high criminal court issued its sentence against 8 suspects over the case of setting fire to tires, planting a hoax bomb in a public place, assembling and acquiring Molotov. The court handed down 3-year jail term to the third and fourth suspects and 10-year jail term to the other suspects and ordered the confiscation of seized items.

The authorities claim that on (April 3, 2014) the suspects set fire to tires in Saar and planted a hoax bomb. When the policemen arrived, the suspects attacked them with Molotov.

The prosecution said that it relied on hearsay evidence, the attesting witnesses as well as the technical reports. Thus, it referred all the suspects with 3 of them imprisoned to the high criminal court with an order to arrest the fugitives
