Authorities Release Activist Ghada Jamsheer, Replace Her Prison Term with Social Work

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini authorities released the women's rights activist Ghada Jamsheer on Monday (December 12, 2016) after she was arrested in August while leaving the country through Bahrain's International Airport.
A Bahraini court sentenced Jamsheer to one year and 8 months in prison over tweets she posted on her Twitter account in which she criticized Salman bin Ateyatalla Al Khalifa, King Hamad University Hospital Chief Executive Officer.
The Al-Wasat newspaper announced that Jamsheer will continue her remaining prison term in social work.
